Kids' Handbook

Hello!

All of the staff at Oscars would like to welcome you.

Oscars is a club all about PLAY. We have lots of toys and games including:

  • Board games
  • PlayStation and Nintendo Wii
  • Dress up and role play
  • Sports
  • Arts and craft
  • Books

We also really love relaxation, so we have a sofa in our quiet corner for lounging around, we also have a TV in our quiet corner so we can watch movies.

What time can I come?

We have put together a typical term time day, so that you can see what sort of things you can expect.

7:45 – Oscars opens. From the second you get here you are able to play if you wish, however we serve breakfast until 8:15, so if you’re hungry, we can give you some yummy food. At Oscars we have toast, yoghurt, a variety of cereals, fruit and milk. Water is always available even after breakfast.

8:30 – depending on weather we either go outside until school starts, or if it is raining we stay inside and continue to play.

8:55 – school starts at 9am, so we leave Oscars at 8:55 and take you to school, or if you are old enough, you can walk yourself.

After School

3:15 – at this time, school finishes. You will either walk to Oscars on your own if you are old enough, or we will come and collect you from your class.

3:20 - you will come into Oscars and sit down and have a snack if you’re hungry. Snack changes every day, however a portion of fruit and water is always available.

3:45 – at this time we go outside to play if the weather is good, we stay outside for at least 30 minutes.

4:20 – a planned craft is available, so you can come inside and do some arts and craft or take part in some indoor play.

Home Time – Everybody’s favourite part of the day! You will be collected and taken home by your parent/carer.

Holiday Club Day

Our holiday club is a bit different as you don’t go to school during this day. We still open at 7:45 and serve breakfast until 8:15, however there are many more activities on offer. Throughout the day you will be able to play, and we will offer sports, crafts and other fun activities, as well as occasionally going on trips.
